Punjab
Región del NO de la península indostánica, en la cuenca del Indo, donde este río recibe cinco de sus principales afluentes que dan nombre al territorio (País de los cinco ríos). Constituyó una prov. del Imperio británico de la India, dividida en 1947 en Punjab Oriental y Punjab Occidental.
